Terms of Use
Effective date: September 25, 2026
Last updated: October 13, 2026
These terms govern your use of HiText, the iOS and Android app for transcribing audio and video, its website trytiro.app and the web version of HiText at app.trytiro.app (together, the "Service"). Please read them carefully. By downloading or using HiText, or by creating an account on the web, you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, don't use the Service.
1. Who we are
The Service is provided and sold by Roberto Díaz Badra, a self-employed professional trading as Disruptive Normality ("we", "us").
- Contact: disruptivenormality@gmail.com
2. Who can use HiText
You must be at least 16 years old to use HiText, and an adult to buy a subscription on the web. By using it, you confirm that you meet this requirement and can enter into this agreement. If you use HiText on behalf of a company or organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms on its behalf.
3. What HiText does
HiText lets you record, upload or import audio and video, or send a link to a video, and uses artificial intelligence to transcribe it, separate the turns by speaker and create translations, summaries, documents from templates and study materials such as flashcards and quizzes. Some features are free with limits and others require a subscription. We may add, change or remove features to improve the Service; if a change significantly reduces what you have already paid for, you can cancel and ask for a refund under section 5.
In the app you can use HiText without an account, with an anonymous ID: if you delete the app or change devices without having signed in, you may lose access to your transcriptions. You can recover your subscription with "Restore purchases" using the same Apple ID or Google account, or sign in to use the same account on the web.
In the web version (app.trytiro.app) you need an account, with your email and a password or with your Google or Apple account. Keep your password secret: you are responsible for what is done with your account, and let us know if you think someone is using it without your permission. Without a subscription, the web includes the free allowances shown there before you use them (for example, one free recording with speakers, one per person and email address).
HiText Business, the plan for professionals, is also governed by its own terms of service (in Spanish), which prevail over these terms on the matters they cover.
4. Subscriptions, free trials and payments
In the app (App Store and Google Play)
- Purchases through the app stores. Subscriptions are sold on the App Store or Google Play and charged to your Apple ID or Google account. The store's terms also apply to your purchase. Prices, including applicable taxes, are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period (for example, weekly, monthly or yearly) at the same price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged within the 24 hours before renewal.
- Free trials. If an offer includes a free trial, the subscription starts automatically when the trial ends and you will be charged, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Introductory offers can only be used once, under the store's rules.
- How to cancel. On iPhone or iPad: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and select HiText. On Android: open Google Play, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, and select HiText. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. After cancelling, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Price changes. If we change the price of a subscription, the store will notify you in advance and, where required, ask for your consent before charging the new price.
On the web (app.trytiro.app)
- We sell to you directly, through Stripe. On the web, we sell HiText Pro to you directly and the payment is processed by Stripe. The charge will appear on your bank statement under the name HiText or Disruptive Normality. There are weekly, monthly and yearly plans. Prices are shown before you pay and already include any applicable indirect taxes (VAT or IGIC, depending on where you are). We email you the receipt or invoice for each charge.
- 3-day free trial, first time only. Your first web subscription to HiText Pro starts with a 3-day free trial. The trial is offered only once per account: if you have had a web subscription before, the new one is charged from day one. When the trial ends, the subscription starts automatically and you are charged the price of the plan you chose, unless you cancel before the 3 days are over. If you cancel during the trial, you are not charged anything.
- Automatic renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (weekly, monthly or yearly) at the same price and is charged to the same payment method, unless you cancel before the end of the current period.
- How to cancel. On app.trytiro.app, go to Settings → Subscription and open the Stripe portal ("Manage subscription"), where you can cancel, change plan, change your payment method and download your invoices, without writing to anyone. After cancelling, you keep Pro access until the end of the period you have already paid for (or until the end of the trial).
- Price changes. If we change the price of the web subscription, we will email you in advance; the new price will apply from the next renewal and you can cancel before then if you don't agree.
- The same Pro in the app and on the web. With the same account, the Pro you buy on the web also works in the iPhone and iPad app (on Android, once the app lets you sign in), and the Pro you bought on the App Store or Google Play also works on the web. Each subscription is paid for, managed and cancelled where it was bought. Without an account, an App Store or Google Play subscription only works in the app.
- Moving from Pro to HiText Business. Business includes Pro. If you have Pro from the web, when you subscribe to Business we cancel your Pro and the unused part is deducted from your Business invoice (proration). If you cancel Business before the renewal where that balance is deducted, we refund it to the card you used to pay for Pro. If you have Pro from the App Store or Google Play, we can't deduct it: cancel it yourself in the store so you don't pay twice.
5. Refunds and your right of withdrawal
App purchases
App payments are processed by Apple or Google, so refunds are requested from them (Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com; Google Play: from your order history) and handled under their policies. We cannot issue refunds directly.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have a legal right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days without giving a reason, which you can exercise through the store. If you asked for the paid service to start immediately during that period, the law may require you to pay for the part already provided or, for digital content supplied with your express consent and acknowledgement, the right of withdrawal may no longer apply.
Web purchases
You pay us directly for web purchases, so refunds are requested from us: write to disruptivenormality@gmail.com from your account's email.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have 14 days from the contract (the day you start the trial or, without a trial, the day you pay) to withdraw without giving a reason: just tell us by email. HiText Pro is a digital service that starts as soon as you subscribe, including during the trial. That is why, when you confirm the subscription, you expressly ask us to start the service immediately, within the withdrawal period. If you withdraw within those 14 days, we refund what you paid minus the proportional part of the service already provided up to the day you tell us you are withdrawing (Article 108(3) of the Spanish consolidated consumer protection law and Article 14(3) of Directive 2011/83/EU). If you withdraw during the free trial, you pay nothing.
During the 3-day trial you can cancel without paying anything (section 4), so you can try Pro before the first charge.
Whatever happens with withdrawal, you keep your guarantees: if HiText Pro does not work as described or we charged you by mistake, write to us and we will fix it, with a refund where appropriate. You can cancel the renewal whenever you want (section 4).
Nothing in these terms limits the rights that consumer law gives you.
6. Your content
- Your content belongs to you. The audio, video, links and text you send, and the transcriptions, translations, summaries, documents and study materials created from them ("Your Content"), belong to you.
- The permission we need. You allow us and our providers to store, process and transform Your Content only as far as needed to provide the Service to you. This permission ends when Your Content is deleted. We do not use Your Content to show you ads or to train AI models.
- Your responsibility. You confirm that you have the rights needed to send Your Content. In particular, if a recording includes other people, you are responsible for telling them or getting their consent where the law requires it, and for respecting the confidentiality of the meetings, interviews, classes or calls you record. Only send links to videos you are allowed to transcribe.
- Privacy. How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything illegal, or to record, transcribe or share content in breach of other people's privacy, intellectual property or confidentiality;
- send content that is unlawful, abusive, or that exploits or harms children;
- try to get around usage limits, payments or security measures, create several accounts to repeat what is free only once, or access the Service by automated means other than the app or the website;
- share your account with other people;
- copy, reverse engineer, resell or build a competing service from HiText, except where the law expressly allows it;
- interfere with the Service or its infrastructure, or send malicious software.
We may suspend or limit access if you seriously or repeatedly break these rules, giving you notice first where reasonable.
8. AI results
Transcriptions, speaker separation, translations, summaries, documents and study materials are generated automatically by AI and can contain errors, omissions or inaccuracies, especially with poor-quality audio, several people speaking, accents or technical vocabulary. They are offered as a help, not as a certified or professional transcription. Check important results before relying on them, especially for legal, medical, financial or academic decisions.
9. Our intellectual property
The app, the website, their design, code, text, system templates, logos and trademarks belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use HiText on devices you own or control, and its web version in your browser, as allowed by the App Store or Google Play terms and these terms. This license does not transfer any ownership to you.
If you believe content processed through the Service infringes your rights, write to disruptivenormality@gmail.com with the details and we will review it promptly.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep HiText available and working well, but we cannot guarantee that it will always work without interruptions or errors, for example during maintenance or failures of external providers. We may update the app and the website; some app updates may be needed to keep using it.
11. Liability
We are responsible for providing the Service as described in these terms and in line with consumer law. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, losses caused by your breach of these terms, decisions you make based on AI results without checking them, or losses caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where the law does not allow it, including liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or your rights as a consumer.
If you use HiText for business or professional purposes, to the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim.
12. Ending the agreement
You can stop using HiText at any time by cancelling your subscription (section 4) and deleting the app. You can also ask us to delete your data or your account (see the Privacy Policy); deleting your account does not cancel your subscription, which you must cancel first where you bought it. We may end or suspend the Service for you if you seriously breach these terms. If we stop offering HiText altogether, we will give you advance notice where possible, active subscriptions will not renew, and we will refund the proportional part of what you paid on the web for the period not provided.
13. Apple and Google
These terms are an agreement between you and us, not with Apple or Google. Apple and Google are not responsible for HiText or its content, have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app, and are not responsible for handling claims related to it, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims. If the iOS app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you can notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo and are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we change the Service or the law changes. We will publish the new version here with its date and, if the changes are significant, we will give you reasonable advance notice in the app, on the website or by email. If you don't agree, you can stop using HiText and cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live. Any dispute may be brought before the courts of your place of residence. There is no mandatory arbitration and we do not take part in any alternative consumer dispute resolution scheme.
If you have a problem, please write to us first at disruptivenormality@gmail.com: we will try to sort it out quickly.
16. General
If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest remains in force. If we don't enforce a term, that doesn't mean we waive it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent; we may transfer them to another entity that continues to provide the Service (for example, a company we set up), without reducing your rights. These terms are available in several languages; the English version is the reference version.
