What audio you can turn into text
Any recording with speech: voice memos, lectures, meetings, interviews, podcasts or voice messages people sent you. If the audio is inside a video, that works too: HiText pulls out the sound and transcribes it.
- Audio: MP3, M4A and WAV
- Video: MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV and WMV, up to 2 GB
- Recordings made in the app itself
- Voice notes shared from WhatsApp and other apps
- YouTube links
More than a transcript
Once the text is ready, HiText saves you the next step: an AI summary with what matters, translation into 15 languages and, if it's a lecture, a quiz and flashcards to study with. You can keep everything organized in folders.
Tips for a better transcript
- Record close to the speaker and away from background noise
- If the audio mixes languages, pick the main language instead of leaving it on automatic
- Split very long recordings by topic so you can find things faster
